As most of you guys know by now, South African sprint runner Oscar Pistorius is accused of murdering his model girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp, who was found dead with gunshot wounds at his house, after what people thought was a Valentine’s Day surprise gone painfully wrong.
It’s a pity that this had to happen, but I don’t understand why the media is throwing this dude under the bus right off the bat. This incident occurred just yesterday, and there are already reports of this guy being a womanizer, owning a lot of guns, being jealous of his new girlfriend’s rising fame (she was set to appear on a reality TV show in S. Africa), among other things. Then again, this is the classic story that the media loves to eat up b/c it features a guy with a touching story who rose to the top against all odds & now apparently has a dark side involving firearms, numerous girlfriends & a potential murder on his hands.
Hmm, the script sounds eerily familiar to numerous others in the past, most recently Lance Armstrong & Tiger Woods—both of which ended tragically. Let’s just say, it’s not lookin’ good for Oscar. If he was dating a African chick or if his girlfriend was ugly, then maybe I could see people throwing him a bone, but considering all odds are against him, he’s going to have a very difficult, if not impossible, time convincing courts & the media that it was all just one big, terrible mistake.

The report I heard (allegedly from neighbours) re the time line, said 3am 3 shots amid screaming. 3.10am 3 more shots. Presumably two shots went astray and explain why it was reported that she was shot 4 times. So he emptied the gun? Bathroom door story explains why two shots missed.
Now, I don't know about you... but, I can only think of one reason why you would shoot a further 3 shots, ten minutes after the first three. That would be when you realised that the first three hadn't done the job. Did the poor girl start to stir or come around? That might explain head shot. Then you are talking execution. Chilling. Doesn't bear thinking about.
I just looked at his birth chart, he was absolutely crazy. he was born for intense experiences and he was extremely possessive in a relationship.. I mean sickly possessive. His father was either absent or if he was there he was abusive to him in some awful way. His Synastry with Reeva didn't make this better. They had intense arguments and it seems he killed her out of jealousy and rage. This guy let his anger get the best of him. Sad. Anyway, death is just a graduation to a new level. As soon as her soul left her body she was blissfully happy and at peace. He's the one who will be suffering for the rest of his days on earth.
I'm sure they got into a heated argument, he got physical, she locked herself into the bathroom for shelter, he banged on the door and told her to let him in. After refusing to open the door, this tough guy grabbed his gun and shot his way into the bathroom. Hence, killing her.
Oh, great, we get to hear Nancy Grace talk about this case for the next six months. It's just another case involving an asshole with a gun.
Intruders should get shot, more than 4 times. Too bad this isn't the case here.
Dude should get two life terms, 1 for murder and the other for wasting a nice piece of ass.
Also if you are going to blame the bad guys, probably best not to live in a heavily armed, gated, cctv'd property to give them a fighting chance of getting in to be blamed.
Biggest challenge of his life. Thrives on challenges, beating this rap counts as greatest challenge (ego-trip?) of his life. First sights of him, head down and lawyer getting into the car, answering queries as to how he was, seemed cold and arrogant to me.. he did actually say he's fine (say what?) this stance, soon adjusted with public shows and reports of emotion, seemed cynical to me - like hurriedly re grouped tactics.
The man is loved in his country, admired, a hero. One assumes the jury will comprise these same admirers. Like O.J. in that he is revered sporting hero. Like O.J. in that he has a lot of cash to assemble a defense dream team. Thirty plus million dollars said O.J. was innocent.
She was beautiful, intelligent, confident. Probably not prepared to put up with less than she ought, setting the ground rules early in the relationship.. Probably did threaten to leave him. If he couldnt have her...
Pretty sure it's a done deal. BTW, he didn't shoot her 4 times in the head. It was head, chest, pelvis, and hand. However, it should be noted that all 4 were through the bathroom door, which she had locked herself into after they were arguing loud enough that neighbors could hear.

this bastard shot her 4 times in the head it is claiming he confused her with a robber... really? you shot her once and she kept coming at you like a zombie? it is virtually impossible that she didn't go down after the first shot, what he did was execute her, already on the floor, with the other 3 shoots. To make things even more aggravated he wrote on twitter that day before ""What do you have up your sleeve for your love tomorrow??? "... fuck, she was gorgeous... Of course they are, you're not privy to that outlook, but to be real the situation is much more dire because she was hot. If she was fat and ugly I would care less about it. Killing the pretty is 10x worse than killing the ugly.

@McP @skilligan dude, you don't get 4 head shots on a moving target with a handgun even on Call of duty, much less with a revolver. Unless you count as for shots one in the head, the person fell to the ground, and then you fire the other 3 execution mode... but if that's the case, and ballistics will tell the angle, you can't claim that you though the person was a robber

@johnconnor777 As I said, it was not clear there were 4 head shots, I never suggested you can get 4 shots to the head. Any way, see Gabbo's post above for important details. This was murder (though there were not 4 shots to the head).
@skilligan If he shot her 4 times in the head, then I agree he knew who he was shooting. Kind of hard to reconcile various media reports. I read that he claims to have shot her through a bathroom door or something, if that is true, there will be holes in the door. Which would make it virtually impossible for her to have 4 shots in the head. I guess we'll find out soon enough.
